Potable Maynilad Water starts flowing to BF LPC Homes
Mayor Aguilar makes good
his promise to BF Las Pinas homeowners
Residents of the Las Pinas portion of BF Homes are
jubilant because, at last, potable water from Maynilad / MWSS will soon, very
soon, be coming out of their faucets and showerheads and bath tubs. In fact,
the first connection has already been made on Saturday, May 8,2010, in one of the homes in El Grande Avenue.
In a ground breaking ceremony on Friday, May 7, 2010,
at the corner of El Grande Ave and Kirishima st, LPC Mayor Vergel “Nene”
Aguilar said that a couple of months ago he promised that not only will potable
water be flowing very soon into the homes of BF residents Las PInas portion but
also the cost to the homeowners will not be as expensive as their Paranaque and
Muntinlupa neighbors. The Mayor said, smilingly, that “he is here today to
fulfill my promise to you (referring to the BF LPC homeowners who attended the
ground breaking ceremony)”. He then asked Mr. Rogelio “Babes” Singson, the
President and CEO of Maynilad Water Services Inc. (MWSI), to announce the
details.
Mr. Singson happily announced after a prolonged
negotiation process with the developer, BF Homes Inc., which negotiation was
successfully brokered by Mayor Aguilar, BF Homes Inc. at last finally gave
Maynilad its permission to service the potable needs of BF LPC residents.
Mr. Singson
also happily announced that in so far as the residents of BF Las Pinas is concerned, the following
Maynilad policy will apply:
·Up front cost is
P500.00 only representing Guarantee Deposit;
·The monthly cost
to the consumer is P500.00 only per water meter connection on top of the actual
water consumption for the month;
·This monthly
cost, to be paid over a period of 48 months, is already inclusive of the
service connection fee, and the cost of the new water distribution system of
Maynilad
·Unlike in the Paranaque and Muntinlupa models, the homeowners can apply
directly to Maynilad for water service connections. No need for the HOAs to
enter into a Memorandum of Agreement or MOA with MWSI;
In his speech, Mr Singson made a commitment that all
BF LPC homeowners will have potable Maynilad water flowing into their homes no
later than 120 days from May 7 but said that Maynilad will do its best to fast
track all connections in half the time. True to his word, a day after, Maynilad
already made the first connection in one of the residents along El Grande Ave.
Mr. Singson further said that homeowners don’t need
to go to their office to apply; they will go house to house to distribute water
service connection application forms and then come back to retrieve the
filled-up application form and collect the P500 as payment for the guarantee
deposit.
So we advise homeowners to call Maynilad and request
them to handcarry to your respective homes the said application forms.
In light of this very good news, which BF LPC homeowners have been praying for more than two
decades, UBFHAI looks forward to the day when all BF residents have potable
Maynilad water already flowing into their homes. This day is no later than September 7, 2010.
